Jeanette Gilliand - JG Golf Pro Lessons

I have been looking for the Holy Grail in golf since 1981 when I decided to take golf seriously. I have had many instructors throughout these years. I found a gem when I found Jeanette. I am down to a 6 from an 11. She answers all my questions and works on the things that I want to work on. I like the combination of instruction with the use of the video camera. When people say a picture is worth a thousand words they mean it. She has helped me with the mental side of the game as well. We talk about goals and how to achieve them. She gives me assignments and we evaluate them at our next lesson. And just as a reminder she writes down key ideas for me to review during my continued practice. The best of all is the pictorial and written diary that she keeps of my swing so that we can review previous successes. I taught in college and I am definitely familiar with good teaching that Jeanette Gilliand exhibits.

She offers not only lessons with visual feedback, but also small group range and on course clinics that have helped me develop my skills. I met Jeanette about 13 years ago when she was an assistant golf professional at the Rancho Bernardo Inn. My wife had stopped playing for 20 years and with Jeanette's help got her to love the game I am most passionate about. As the years went by both my wife and myself took
lessons from Jeanette. What we like most about Jeanette is that she doesn't try and totally restructure your golf swing. She observes and makes small but effective corrections. She always gives you a "cheat" sheet with her recommendations so you can have it in your bag for reference.
My handicap is 10 and my wife's is a 22. We can play golf on holiday and represent ourselves pretty well. I believe very strongly that Jeanette's approach to the swing leaves her students with a positive mind-set for the swing and the game. I have given her name to many of our friends,

My name is Ian Dixon. I am a student of Jeanette Gilliand at the Hodges golf center in Escondido, CA. I have been working with Jeanette for over a year now. My golf game and skills as a player have increased immensily while working with Jeanette. What I like about her as a teacher is that she is interested in what the student's personal goals are. Before every lesson she asks me what we are going to work on, which is great because I can tell her what I have been struggling with when I play on my own. Jeanette is very professional and always explains why I need to make the changes I make with my golf game and strategy so that I understand the concepts as we go along. Jeanette is so easy to get along with and is always so positive when making the rigorous changes in my golf game so that I stay pumped up and excited. The facilities at the Hodges golf center offer the ability for everyone to practice every part of the golf game and hone the different skills need to succeed on the golf course. With these facilities at my fingertips we can practice any aspect of my game during the lesson. Not only does Jeanette provide professional instruction about the physics and principles of the golf swing, she has a knowledge of golf equiptment and knows how to fit the clubs to the golfer. With her help i can make sure that my tools will perform the way i need them to in tournaments. I would suggest that any golfer with any playing ability meet Jeanette and work with her. They will learn to not only swing the club, but understand the golf swing, they will enjoy the game of golf everytime they go out onto the course, and they will have unbelievable confidence in themselves when they implement their skills that they learn from her.

The first golf lesson I ever had was with Jeanette Gilliand. I began lessons in summer hoping to make the high school golf team in the fall of that year. I had never played golf or even held a golf club before meeting Jeanette. Jeanette puts the golf terms in a vernacular that I easily understand. She makes golf interesting and fun even when I’m having difficulties with my game. With Jeanette’s teaching expertise, I’m happy to say, I achieved a place on my high school golf team. I continue to take lessons from Jeanette as she helps me with every obstacle I come across in golf. Jeanette helps me set goals that are rewarding when achieved on the course. As a result of her lessons, I’m able to take her advice back to the course and have a good match. I enjoy golf with thanks in a big part to Jeanette and what she has taught me. Golf is a sport enjoyed by a variety of people of all ages and is a sport I can enjoy competitively and recreationally.

Jeanette is the best teacher I've ever had. She has improved my game by leaps and bounds. I still have work to do but at least now with her guidance I have clues to why things are not working. She has the most wonderful personality and she brings it along with her professionlism and golf knowledge. I love the way she always leaves you with notes when
you leave so you have something to work on until the next lesson. I like that she teaches technigue and tempo. I can't wait to resume my lessons with her again.
